Battle of Lethbridge Results

The Lethbridge Pronghorns hosted the WCSA teams on September 18 and 19 at Softball Valley. The sun was shining, and the wind was blowing challenging fielders. The scores were high with several home runs. Host Lethbridge got home runs from Miranda Holod and Megan Hunter. A highlight game was a close 9 to 7 loss versus Saskatchewan. SAIT played two close games with Saskatchewan and had a strong performance against Lethbridge with a 10 to 5 victory. Sheri Boucher, Caitlyn Klassen, and Emma Dousett led the offense for SAIT this weekend. Regina had 3 wins and 2 losses and was led by Brooklyn Lowenberger and Hallie Goodfellow.

Saskatchewan had victories over SAIT and Lethbridge and two losses to Calgary and one to UBCO. Both Brady Gaurcher and Sarah Kostuk had games with 3 hits. Calgary Dinos had a strong 4 wins and 1 loss performance with high scoring games. Offensive leaders included Emma Stephens, Brooke Stoilen, and Chloe Maher, and overall the Dinos offense was on fire this weekend.

UBCO Heat went 5 and 0 with a close matchup against the Calgary Dinos finishing with a 4 to 2 score. Jessica Podskalny had an exceptional weekend as the winning pitcher in the Calgary game along with multiple timely hits. Highlights include Cassidy Kellow’s inside the park home run, and strong batting performances by Janessa Hanson, Taylor Roeseler, and Lauryn Dirks.

Next weekend features Provincial action with games in Calgary/Lethbridge, Regina, and Victoria.
