Our Mission
The Western Collegiate Softball Association (WCSA) is the governing body for collegiate softball across Western Canada. Representing elite post-secondary institutions in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, we are dedicated to fostering athletic excellence, academic integrity, and a highly competitive environment for student-athletes.
Through standardizing league play and hosting elite showcase events, the WCSA elevates the profile of fastpitch softball and provides a clear pathway for athletes to compete at the highest level.

How Our League Works
Collegiate softball in the WCSA is built on intensity and focus. Our student-athletes balance rigorous academic loads with a highly concentrated competitive schedule.
The Fall Blitz …
To accommodate Western Canadian climates and academic calendars, our entire regular season is played during a condensed six week fall window. Our season usually begins on the last Friday in August and goes to the first Sunday in October.
Weekend Tournament Format …
Each weekend teams travel to a central host site each to compete in a multi-game tournament format. Each team plays up to five games in one weekend which creates an electric, festival-like atmosphere for fans and intense competition for players.
The Postseason Hunt …
The regular-season grind culminates in the WCSA League Championship Playoffs. The stakes couldn’t be higher, as top-performing teams earn the right to represent Western Canada at the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) National Championship.
The Ultimate Goal
Our teams compete to win our Annual League Championship and to earn a qualification to represent our league at the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) National Championship tournament
