The last weekend of the WCSA regular season featured exciting provincial play between teams.
In Regina, USask won two games against Regina. Saskatchewan was lead by Kim Vibert driving in the winning runs on a triple. Regina was led by hitters Brady Gaurcher and Breanne Welder.
SAIT, Lethbridge, and Calgary played for the Alberta title. The weekend opened with a 11 to 11 tie between SAIT and Lethbridge featuring multiple hit games by Katelyn Jeglum and Mckenna Cowan. SAIT had two home runs in the game by Kylie Koch who also had 6 RBI. It was a high-scoring weekend all-around. Lethbridge had a wild 17 to 11 victory over SAIT featuring 19 total hits and Katelyn Jeglum with 4 hits including 2 triples and 7 RBI! Lethbridge split the three game series with SAIT who also had a strong weekend. SAIT scored 31 runs in three games against Lethbridge and played well against Calgary. SAIT offensive leaders were Kylie Koch, Emma Dousett, and Samara Sawyer.
Calgary Dinos went undefeated with 5 wins. Chloe Maher hit a home run in the opening game against Lethbridge, and Brooke Stoilen followed that up with a grand slam in the next game against SAIT. Notable offensive performances included Shaye Holzinger, Racquel Bennett (two triples), and Naidine Burdett .
Victoria Vikes and UBC Okanagan Heat had two games on Saturday in Victoria both won by UBCO. Highlights for Victoria were Sydney Wood and Devon Rees who both had a triple and 3 total hits. UBCO was led by Jessica Podskalny on the mound giving up only 1 run in 5 innings. Notable offensive players for UBCO were Chelsea Mosher (2 doubles and a triple) and Taylor Roeseler (4 hits). The scheduled games on Sunday were rained out.
The regular season is complete. Next weekend are playoffs in Calgary.
