Week 5 settled the top of the standings. University of Victoria went 5-1 on home soil to win the first regular season title in program history and lock up a spot at the 2027 CCSA National Championship. In Lethbridge, University of Calgary followed a 1-4 weekend with five straight wins. Mount Royal and Lethbridge went back and forth all weekend, and UBC Okanagan saw its share of the top spot slip away. Here’s a team-by-team look at how Week 5 played out.
University of Victoria (5-1)

Victoria’s weekend started with a 6-4 loss to UBC Okanagan, but they won their last five to take the regular season title outright. They beat Regina 9-0 and 12-1 on Saturday, followed by a 4-0 shutout of UBCO behind Kaitlyn Penner. On Sunday they beat Saskatchewan 5-1, then came from behind in a 15-9 win, answering a seven-run Saskatchewan fifth with an eight-run sixth.
Madison Hillman was the spark at the top of the order, with six hits across the two Regina games, including a leadoff home run in the second. Victoria Perry drove in the game-winning runs against UBCO with a two-run double. Kristen Bertelsen had three RBIs and a home run in the 5-1 win, and Celina Bhatti went 4-for-5 in the finale. University of Calgary (5-0)

Calgary bounced back in a big way after a 1-4 weekend, winning all five of its games in Lethbridge. On Saturday they beat Lethbridge twice, 9-6 after trailing by as many as four runs and 9-5 in the rematch, then edged SAIT 5-4 in a one-run game. On Sunday they beat Mount Royal 9-1 and 12-5.
Madison Belden as the workhorse, striking out 12 over seven innings against Lethbridge and 11 over six against Mount Royal, and she went deep in both wins over the Warriors as well. Mia Pielak drove in four runs on a home run and a double in the second Lethbridge win, and Chloe Kinghorn matched that with four RBIs on a homer and a double against Mount Royal. Anna Forbes struck out nine over four innings of relief in the win over SAIT, and Angelina Hargreaves drove in three in the 9-1 win over Mount Royal.
University of Lethbridge (3-3)

Lethbridge opened with a 17-9 win over Mount Royal, overcoming a 9-8 deficit with a five-run sixth inning. They then dropped a pair to Calgary and a 10-9 walk-off to Mount Royal on Saturday. They finished strong on Sunday with 9-2 and 15-2 wins over SAIT, the second built on a 15-run third inning.
Jenna Funk was the offensive engine, going deep in the opener and hitting two home runs with five RBIs in the 15-2 win. Juliane Adams drove in four runs in both the opener and the 9-2 win over SAIT, hitting a three-run homer in the latter. Denai Grabo went 3-for-3 in the walk-off loss, and Rory Lumgair picked up the win in the 9-2 game.
Mount Royal University (3-3)

Mount Royal’s weekend swung between extremes. They fell 17-9 to Lethbridge on Friday, then scored 16 runs in each of their two Saturday games against SAIT (16-3 and 16-1), each powered by a big second inning. They capped the day with a 10-9 walk-off win over Lethbridge, then dropped both games to Calgary on Sunday.
Sara Trevis was the standout, driving in four runs in a 16-1 win over SAIT and delivering the walk-off two-run single in the bottom of the seventh against Lethbridge. Grace Stagman hit a grand slam in the 16-1 win and had three hits in the walk-off. Abbygale Sheridan hit a three-run homer in the 16-3 win.
UBC Okanagan (3-3)

UBC Okanagan started the weekend tied for first and beat Victoria 6-4 on Friday, then beat Saskatchewan 7-2 on Saturday. But the Heat dropped three of their final five, losing a 1-0 pitcher’s duel to Saskatchewan and the 4-0 rematch to Victoria, then splitting Sunday with Regina.
Taylor McRae had the biggest day, driving in five runs with a grand slam in the 6-0 win over Regina. Katie Nelson drove in three in the win over Saskatchewan, and Kate Hourihane homered in that game. Kate Lawrence stole five bases across the two Sunday games, and Emma Pepin had three hits in the win over Regina.
University of Regina (2-3)

Regina lost both games to Victoria on Saturday but bounced back that afternoon with a 9-0 win over Saskatchewan, in which Rhyan Sigmeth threw five innings of one-hit ball and struck out eight. Sunday was a split with UBC Okanagan: a 6-0 loss and a 4-1 win.
Sigmeth was excellent again in the win over UBCO, going seven innings and allowing only an unearned run. Madilynn Geiss went 3-for-4 against Saskatchewan, and Merceydes Therrien tripled and had two hits in the win over UBCO.
University of Saskatchewan (1-4)

Saskatchewan’s lone win was the highlight of the weekend: a 1-0 pitcher’s duel over UBC Okanagan. Makenna Pilbeam allowed just two hits, and Taryn Moehler went 3-for-3 at the plate. They also lost to UBCO 7-2, to Regina 9-0, and to Victoria twice on Sunday, though they showed fight in the 15-9 loss by scoring seven runs in the fifth inning to briefly take the lead.
Rhyan Amundson had three RBIs in the 15-9 game, and Hayley Mclean walked three times.
SAIT (0-5)

SAIT dropped all five games in Lethbridge but was competitive in a few. They fell 5-4 to Calgary, with Olivia Dafoe hitting a three-run homer in the first inning and Christina Van De Velde adding a solo shot in the sixth. Mount Royal beat them 16-3 and 16-1 on Saturday, and Lethbridge won 9-2 and 15-2 on Sunday.
Makayla Douglas homered in the 9-2 loss and drove in two. Alex Thain stole three bases against Mount Royal, and Natalia Billings drove in a run in the 16-1 game.
