COALDALE, Alta. — Mount Royal University’s 10th win of the 2026 WCSA regular season came down to one final swing from Sara Trevis.

Trailing the University of Lethbridge 9–8 in the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday, Trevis singled home two runs to give the Cougars a 10–9 walk-off victory.

“Nothing feels like a walk-off!”, Trevis remarked after the game.

The result capped three straight wins on the day and brought Mount Royal to a 10–10–3 record—the most regular-season wins in the softball program’s history.

Trevis had been driving the Cougars’ offence all day. In a 16–3 win over SAIT, she doubled in the first inning and hit a two-run home run during Mount Royal’s nine-run second. Abbygale Sheridan also homered in the big inning, driving in three.

The Cougars followed with another 16-run performance against SAIT, winning 16–1. Trevis collected three hits and four RBIs, opening the scoring for Mount Royal with a three-run homer in the first inning before adding a run-scoring single in the second. Grace Stagman provided another highlight with a grand slam during a 10-run second inning.

The finale demanded a different kind of finish. Mount Royal led Lethbridge 8–5 after three innings, but the Pronghorns battled back and moved ahead 9–8 in the top of the seventh. Trevis, who had already singled in a run earlier in the game, came through again in the bottom half. She finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs, while Stagman also had three hits. Riley Chapman earned the win in relief.

Trevis entered the day with 17 hits, one home run and nine RBIs through 19 appearances. Across the three victories, she added eight hits, two home runs and nine RBIs. On the season, Trevis now has 25 hits, three home runs and 18 RBIs through 22 regular-season appearances, with her batting average rising from .415 to .490. For comparison, in 2025, she had 10 hits and seven RBIs.

Mount Royal scored 42 runs across the three games today. The last two belonged to Trevis—and gave the Cougars a new program high with Sunday’s games against the University of Calgary still to come!
