University of Calgary Roster

Neal was selected to be the head coach of the Dinos in October 2015. He is the 6th Head Coach of the Dinos Fastball program, and the 2026 season will be his 12th year with the club. Neal brings a wealth of coaching experience to the program, and in 2016 and 2018 he was selected the WCSA coach of the year. On September 15th, 2025, Neal became the first WCSA head coach to reach 100 regular season wins. He has led the Dinos to four medals at the Canadian Collegiate National Championships winning bronze in 2018 & 2021 as well as silver in 2019 & 2025. In 2025 the team won the silver medal at the WCSA Championships and has also medaled in every year previously.

Neal started coaching in minor ball 20 years ago. He coached club teams for 12 years. Neal spent 10 years with the Calgary Xtreme, a team he founded, before stepping away to focus on the Dinos program. His teams have received numerous medals throughout the years competing at both A and B Provincial Championships, Western Canadian Championships, National Championships, Alberta Summer Games, and tournaments in the United States and across Canada.

He is passionate about coaching and helping his players improve not only on the field but off the field as well. He is always trying to adapt and improve his coaching methods to help individuals who have the desire to elevate their game.

Off the ball field Neal likes to spend his time at the gym, disc golfing, and cycling where he is proud to be a ten-year participant in the Tour of Alberta for Cancer that raises money for cancer research in Alberta.

Victoria grew up playing softball in B.C. for Ridge Meadows Rage and Coquitlam Classics until she moved to Calgary to play softball at the University of Calgary. Victoria played first base and pitched for the Dinos where she received two first team all-star awards for playing first base, placed first in the WCSA league, and won a bronze and a silver medal at the CCSA National Championships.
Victoria was a two time recipient of the Dino Pride Award which is given to a player for their exemplary commitment and dedication to the team on and off the field. Victoria has been coaching in and around Calgary for the past seven years through ASA, South Bow River, Foothills Fury and Nose Creek Softball. She is NCCP Competition Introduction trained and CAN Pitch trained on top of her 20+ years of experience as a player.

Karen grew up playing softball in Calgary Alberta and is a former member of Kaizen 97 and Adrenaline in Calgary. As a member of the Kaizen, she won silver at national championships in 2013 and won provincial gold in 2013,2014, & 2015. Karen was a catcher for the University of Calgary Dinos from 2014-17 and part of the 2014 WCSA Gold medal team. In 2016 she received a first-team WCSA all star award for catcher and was named the University of Calgary Dinos Competitive Club female athlete of the year. She also received a WCSA all academic award in 2017.
For the past 6 years Karen has been coaching catchers on competitive club teams across southern Alberta. She has mentored and trained catchers who have gone on to play for DI NCAA programs, with an emphasis on building leaders on and off the diamond. Karen completed a Master of Science degree in Economics from University College London in 2022, and currently works in Calgary as a Product Manager.

Dana grew up in Saskatoon, SK, playing for the Saskatoon Hustlers and Selects as a utility player. She represented Team Saskatchewan at the Western Canada Summer Games in 2011 and, as a member of the Saskatoon Selects, won the U18 National Championship in 2013. She then moved to London, ON to play for the Western Mustangs, where she was the rookie of the year and won 2 CCSA National Championships. Dana finished her university playing career at the University of Saskatchewan, where she won the 2016 CCSA National Championship, 3 national all-star shortstop awards, and 2 team leadership awards. Dana played summer ball with the Saskatoon G-Force, winning the U21 National Championship in 2016 and silver at the Senior National Championship in 2019. She was also named MVP of the 2022 Senior National Championship.

Dana has been involved in coaching clinics for hitting and defensive skills over the past 10 years. She was also the co-head coach of the 2019 U14 Softball Sask High Performance team. Dana currently works as a teacher in south Calgary.
