WCSA teams played in Victoria, BC and Saskatoon, SK for Regional Rivalry weekend. In Saskatoon, Calgary, Lethbridge, Saskatchewan, and Regina battled for 10 games with every team picking up wins. The wide-open WCSA season continues with lots of offense. Every team won at least one game by 7 run mercy including a great effort by Lethbridge beating Calgary 10 to 3. Calgary finished with 4 wins, and the host USask Huskies went 2-2-1 as did the Lethbridge Pronghorns.
In the west, UVic, SAIT, and UBCO played in beautiful Victoria. The host UVic Vikes finished with 4 wins and 1 loss, and ended a great weekend of softball with a 7 to 1 victory over rival UBCO. UBCO started strong winning all 3 games on Saturday, but lost both games on Sunday to SAIT and UVic. The victory by SAIT was a complete team effort and culminates a strong showing in close games all weekend. The fences were deep in Hyacinth park, so there were no home runs but lots of deep balls in the outfield.
Next week the games are in Lethbridge.
