University of Victoria’s Madison Hillman took home Week 5 Player of the Week, but she was far from the only player turning heads across the WCSA this weekend. With the regular season on the line, several players put together performances worth highlighting.
University of Victoria’s Pitching Staff

It’s hard to single out one Victoria pitcher this weekend, because the story is the staff as a whole. Hudsyn Milne, Kassidy Ralfs, Kaitlyn Penner, and Addison Barton combined for a 1.20 ERA and a .192 batting average against over the weekend. Milne threw a complete-game win over Saskatchewan, striking out two over seven innings. Penner tossed a shutout against UBC Okanagan, and Barton struck out eight over five innings in a win over Regina. Individually: Milne posted a 1.575 ERA and 1.125 WHIP over 13.1 innings; Ralfs a 1.556 ERA and 1.222 WHIP over nine innings; Penner a 0.000 ERA and 1.174 WHIP over 7.2 innings; and Barton a 1.400 ERA and an 0.800 WHIP over five innings. That kind of depth doesn’t just win games, it’s a core reason Victoria is sitting atop the standings heading into the playoffs.
Madison Belden, University of Calgary

Belden delivered one of the most complete weekends in the league, doing damage both at the plate and in the circle as Calgary rattled off a perfect 5-0 weekend. Offensively, she hit .417 with a 1.333 OPS, collecting five hits, including two home runs, and four RBIs in 12 plate appearances. In the circle, she turned in her best weekend of the season, throwing 13 innings across two starts and striking out 23 batters, including 12 against Lethbridge and 11 against Mount Royal, while posting a 3.769 ERA and a .216 batting average against.
Sara Trevis, Mount Royal University

Trevis was Mount Royal’s offensive anchor in a wild, high-scoring weekend, hitting .688 with a 1.979 OPS across 18 plate appearances. She collected 11 hits, including three home runs, and drove in 12 runs — the most of any hitter in the league this weekend. She drove in four runs in a 16-1 win over SAIT, powered by a Grace Stagman grand slam in the same game, then delivered the signature moment of Mount Royal’s weekend: a walk-off two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to beat Lethbridge 10-9, capping a back-and-forth game that saw the two teams trade the lead multiple times. Across a weekend where Mount Royal scored in bunches, Trevis was the constant, driving in a run in three of the team’s six games and never going more than a game without a hit.
Rhyan Sigmeth, University of Regina

The headline for Sigmeth this weekend is her 100th strikeout of the regular season, recorded in the win over Saskatchewan. It’s a number no pitcher in our WCSA archives has come close to. She backed it up with 18 strikeouts in 16 innings this weekend alone, a .000 ERA, and a .215 batting average against. At the plate, she was just as sharp, hitting .500 with six hits, two doubles, and two RBIs across 12 plate appearances.
Victoria Perry, University of Victoria

Perry was a driving force in Victoria’s title-clinching weekend, hitting .563 with an .813 slugging percentage and a perfect 100% contact rate. She collected nine hits, four of them doubles, and drove in seven runs across 17 plate appearances, hitting .563 with runners in scoring position. Her two-run double in the fifth inning was the difference in Victoria’s 4-0 win over UBC Okanagan, and she added three more hits in the come-from-behind 15-9 win over Saskatchewan.
Julieane Adams, University of Lethbridge

Adams hit .600 on the weekend, collecting nine hits, including three doubles and a home run, and driving in 10 runs across 16 plate appearances. She drove in four runs in Lethbridge’s 17-9 opening win over Mount Royal and four more in a 9-2 win over SAIT, highlighted by a three-run homer.
Madysen Mills, Mount Royal University

Mills matched Trevis blow for blow in the middle of Mount Royal’s lineup, hitting .563 with a 1.549 OPS. She collected nine hits, three of them doubles, along with a home run and six RBIs in 18 plate appearances.

That’s Week 5 in the books, and the regular season with it. Next up: the championship tournament, with the WCSA title and the remaining 2027 nationals bids on the line.
