Laurier Softball to host 2019 National Championships

WATERLOO, Ont. (May 27, 2019) – The Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) is pleased to announce the 2019 CCSA National Championships will return to Wilfrid Laurier University this fall.

The CCSA National Championships includes the top two teams from all collegiate/university leagues across Canada, with special invites made to complete the field. Teams already confirmed include the host Laurier Golden Hawks, the defending champions University of Regina Cougars, Western University Mustangs, University of Saskatchewan Huskies, Durham College Lords and St. Clair College Saints.

This will mark the second time the Laurier Golden Hawks have hosted the National Championships, the last time coming in 2009 when the Golden Hawks won the National crown on home turf.

The Golden Hawks have seen success on the diamond over the last 10 years with six provincial medals and two national medals but has also been revered for hosting world-class championships.

“We couldn’t be any more excited to host this prestigious event and it is perfect timing for us to celebrate 10 years since we won our first national title on these very grounds” said Head Coach Matt Allen.

The three day championship will be hosted at the iconic Peter Hallman Ball Yard in Kitchener, Ontario from October 11-13, 2019.
