The 2017 WCSA All Star team selections, the All Academic team selections, and the 6 major award winners were announced Saturday afternoon. Most Outstanding Player for 2017 was awarded to Michelle Kukurudza from Saskatchewan. Other Major award winners included Top Batter, Candace van Horne and Coach of the Year Andi Wolfe both from Regina. Top Pitcher was Calgary’s Haley Volk; Rookie of the Year went to Briercrest’s Carrie Jesperson. A new award this year saw each team vote one of their own in for the Leadership Award. Selections were Evelyn Fransoo from SAIT, Carmen Hughes from Regina, Dana Lahti from Saskatchewan, Emma Jerome Smith from Calgary and Sarah Richards from Briercrest.
